YDP CLINICS
The IJGA recognizes the responsibility to educate all of our members in the rules and etiquette of the game. The YDP includes clinics (which instruct on skills and the rules & etiquette of golf) as well as the YDP Playing Event schedule. We will be offering four (4) YDP clinics in 2012.
PARENT / JUNIORS
These six tournaments are 9-or 18-Hole Team scramble events (number of holes played is determined by the age of the junior). The field will be divided into five age divisions: age 13, age 12, age 11, age 10 and ages 6-9. Four (4) of these will be pre-season events and two (2) will take place after the conclusion of the regular season.

In these events, 12-13 year olds only are able to compete for ‘‘Player of the Year’’ points. At the end of the season, the top YDP members (one boy, one girl) ages 12 & 13 with the most points (male and female) will be honored as the YDP Player of the Year. The 10-13 year old division allows registered spectators access to the course and players keep their own scores.

Mandatory Volunteer Policy - one member of each YDP household must volunteer their time to give support at one YDP event during the season, or, if that is not possible, pay a higher fee per tournament. To view the policy, click here. On site, these volunteers act as scorers for the 6-11 year old age division and give tips on proper golf etiquette. They also insure the safety of our members on the golf course.
Fall Series Announced for 2012! For years, the IJGA has administered the YDP season in conjunction with the IJGA Playing Member season, which has a built-in end-date in mid-August due to Illinois High School Association (IHSA) governing rules. In 2012, although the YDP season will begin later in the summer than in past years, the IJGA will run the YDP season later into August (it is not affected by the IHSA start date) and will be launching a fall series of events (after school and weekends) to allow for an increased number of opportunities for YDP-division juniors. These events and formats will be announced closer to the start of the 2012 IJGA season.
