LEMONT, Ill. – The Mid-American Junior Golf Tour announced its first ever team event in 2016. This event will be hosted by Kemper Lakes Golf Club, October 29-30, 2016. This Ryder Cup style event will pit Team Illinois versus Team Midwest.

“We are excited to be launching a team event this year for the MAJGT,” said Elisa Hermes, director of the MAJGT. “There are not many events of this style run for junior golfers here in Illinois.”

The event will feature four separate 9-hole matches, in a Ryder Cup style format:

Each team is made up of 12 players, eight boys and four girls. Team Midwest features top junior golfers from Iowa, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The players were selected based on their finish in the regular season All Midwest Team points standings or by their ranking on Junior Golf Scoreboard. All players were required to be members of the Class of 2017 and beyond.
