WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Mid-American Junior Golf Tour’s Purdue Classic concluded Friday after two rounds of competitive golf. The Boys Division champion was Ryan Cagan (2018) of Naperville, Ill. The Girls Champion was Rosemarie Bundy (2017) of West Chicago, Ill., and the College Division champion was Alex Homann (2016) of South Bend, Ind.

The Purdue Classic was a 36-hole, stroke play event contested on the par 72 Kampen Course at Purdue. The Boys Division played the course from 7,019 yards, while the Girls and College Divisions played from 6,067 yards.

The Classic at Highlands of Elgin was a 36-hole, stroke play event contested on the Highlands of Elgin Golf Course. The field consisted of 37 junior golfers ages 12-18. The Boys Division played the par 72 course from 7,000 yards, while the Girls Division played from 6,039 yards.

Cagan carded a 6-over-par 150 tournament total to finish atop the leaderboard. His final round 1-over-par 73 included an eagle and three birdies. This was Cagan’s first MAJGT victory.

Coming in runner-up was Isaak Ramsey (2018) of Peoria, Ill., with a 13-over-par 157 tournament total. In third was Josh Yoder (2020) of Granger, Ind., who finished the tournament at 16-over-par 160. In fourth was Caleb Poindexter (2018) of LeRoy, Ill., who carded a 17-over-par 161 tournament total. Rounding out the top 5 were Parker Wisdom (2019) of Bloomington, Ill., and Michael Rhee (2018) of Naperville, Ill., who each carded a two day total of 18-over-par 162.

In the Girls Division, Bundy finished the tournament at 17-over-par 161. This was Bundy’s first MAJGT victory. Her final round score included two birdies and eight pars.

Runner-up in the Girls Division was Kira Wolf (2020) of Mattoon, Ill., who finished the tournament at 19-over-par 163. Rounding out the top 3 was Stephanie Mroz (2018) of Wood Dale, Ill., who finished the tournament at 27-over-par 171.

Alex Homann (2016) of South Bend, Ind., carded a two day total of 46-over-par 190.

Next the MAJGT heads to Flossmoor CC for the Girls Championship June 28-29, 2017.
