LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – The Mid-American Junior Golf Tour’s Championship at Geneva National concluded after three days of competitive golf. The champion in the Boys Division was Raymond Sullivan (2018) of Lemont, Ill. A playoff determined the champion in the Girls Division, which was won by Emily Lauterbach (2019) of Hartland, Wis.

The MAJGT Championship at Geneva National was a 54-hole, stroke play competition contested on the par 72 Geneva National Golf Club – Player Course. The field featured 118 junior golfers ages 12-18 hailing from Illinois and Wisconsin. The Boys Division played the course from 7,008 yards, while the Girls Division played the course from 6,014 yards.

The MAJGT is designed for exceptionally talented junior golfers throughout the Midwest ages 12-18 and is nationally recognized by the Junior Golf Scoreboard and American Junior Golf Association with all of its events providing national exposure.

Sullivan carded a 7-under-par 209 tournament total. Two of his three rounds posted were under-par. After an opening round of 2-over-par 74, Sullivan carded rounds of 4-under-par 68 and 5-under-par 67 to finish the event atop the leaderboard. This was Sullivan’s first MAJGT victory.

Runner-up was Andrew Clement (2019) of Pewaukee, Wis., who carded a three-day total of 1-under-par 215. In third was Black Wisdom (2019) of Lake Geneva, Wis., who finished the tournament with an even-par 216. Rounding out the top five were Daniel Tanaka (2020) of Wilmette, Ill., and Josh Zoldan (2018) of Highland Park, Ill., who each carded a 2-over-par 218 tournament total.

In the Girls Division, Lauterback carded a 2-over-par 218 total to force a playoff with Nina Rutkowski (2018) of Park Ridge, Ill. Lauterback carded eight birdies during the tournament, her second round included a 1-under-par 71 and her final round was an even-par 72. This was Lauterback’s first MAJGT victory, her best finishing coming at the MAJGT Shepherd’s Crook Open earlier this year where she finished fourth.

Coming in third was Sarah Arnold (2019) of St. Charles, Ill., who finished the tournament with a 6-over-par 222 total.

The MAJGT heads to Normal, Ill., for the Classic at Illinois State July 45-25.
