Barrington, Ill. – The cut was made at the Illinois Junior Golf Association’s 51st Illinois State Junior Amateur. Tyler Greenspahn (2023) of Winnetka, Ill., has held his lead through the second round. The cut line was a 12-over-par 154 two day total.

The Illinois State Junior Amateur (ISJA), also known as the Slovitt Cup, is a 54 hole, Stroke Play event, with a cut after 36 holes to the low 50 and ties. The field, made up of male junior golfers from Illinois ages 12-18, played the second round on the par 71 course from 6900 yards.

The Illinois Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing playing opportunities for its members ages 8-18, conducting educational clinics and events, and serving as a junior golf informational clearinghouse.

Greenspahn currently sits atop the leaderboard with a 4-under-par 138 total. He carded a 1-over-par 72 during the second round, which included three birdies.

Currently in second place is Dominic Scaletta (2021) of Inverness, Ill., with a 1-under-par 141 total. In third place are Gage Johnson (2022) of Winnetka, Ill., and Sean Curran (2021) of New Lenox, Ill., who are entering the final round at even-par 142. Rounding out the top five is Benjamin Sluzas (2021) of Lockport, Ill., who sits at 1-over-par 143.

The final round of the 51st ISJA will begin at 7:30 a.m. of No. 1 at Makray Memorial Golf Club.
