BARRINGTON, Ill. – The cut was made at the Illinois Junior Golf Association’s 54th Illinois State Junior Amateur. Grant Roscich (2024) of Glen Ellyn, Ill., held onto his lead during the second round. This is the fifth straight round of the Illinois State Junior Amateur that Roscich has held a share of the lead. The cut was made at a 14-over-par 154 two-day total.

The Illinois State Junior Amateur (ISJA), also known as the Slovitt Cup, is a 54 hole, Stroke Play event, with a cut after 36 holes to the low 50 and ties. The field, made up of male junior golfers from Illinois ages 12-18, played the second round on the par 71 course from 6900 yards.

The Illinois Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing playing opportunities for its members ages 8-18, conducting educational clinics and events, and serving as a junior golf informational clearinghouse.

Roscich currently sits atop the leaderboard with a 2-under-par 140 total. He carded a 1-over-par 72 during the second round, which included four birdies on his bogey-free, 4-under-par 32 back nine.

Currently in second place is Tyler Greenspahn (2023) of Winnetka, Ill. with a total of 2-over-par 144. Patrick Raupp (2024) of Arlington Heights, Ill. sits in third place at 3-over-par 145. In fourth place with a total of 4-over-par 146 is Cooper Watt (2023) of Rockford, Ill. Rounding out the top five in a tie for fifth is Nicolas Simon (2024) of Elk Grove Village, Ill., and Devin Swoyer (2024) of Hinsdale, Ill., who are entering the final round at 5-over-par 147.

The final round of the 54th ISJA will begin at 7:30 a.m. of Nos. 1 & 10 at Makray Memorial Golf Club.
